Re: NX11 for $ 450. The 30mm?

Actually I walk around daily with G3/20mm! Great combination. But thinking of friends, beginners. Got film SLRs and talking about cheap compacts, crazy, I tell them to buy NX11 instead.

I think an "old" NX with EVF is difficult to sell here. For $300 I'll buy it myself...

Just tried the NX11 as the price was so low. The EVF ok, but not as good as in Panasonic G3. And the 30mm should be as good as the Panasonic 20mm? Checked the two cameras at ISO 1600, think G3 was a little better.

The sensor in the NX11, 14.6 MP was never a great performer in terms of dynamic range or anything, but should be similar to the best m4/3 sensors. You still have the benefit that you aren't enlarging the image as much.

If it comes under $400, a bargain? I think local prices are - Norway - are 30% above US. Have not found many user reports. Any links would be helpful.

The NX11 is an older camera now, and the 30 mm is very good lens. As you say, very comparable to the Panasonic 20 mm f/1.7 on m4/3 in terms of depth of field and everything, but is a slightly tighter field of view, more like a 25 mm on m4/3.

So the older Samsung models can be very good bargain cameras. It would be nice to try both in your hand to see which you like better.
