That's why I don't trust these places that claim to be factory authorized or whatever. They will say anything to get your business, but many of them simply are not skilled enough. Cameras now days are so complicated they need to go to the manufacturer's own service center for proper repair. I Hope Canon will fix it for a reasonable amount, say $500 range... good luck

Yes, and I hoped for a faster turnaround time. Canon has been really slow for me in the past.

Even if they were able to repair it, do you think they would've done as good a job as Canon USA's factory trained technicians would have?

I did think that; they claim to be a factory-authorized repair center. Clearly I wouldn't send it to them if I had to do it over again, but that was my original thinking.
