I tend to go with darker stuff too. In this case the darker it got the less it worked for me, it all just got too muddy, especially with that huge central area of dark. The clouds and wet gravel were so overpowering I ended up backing off on the "clarity" of the wet area and increasing it on the "lips" to make it work. At least, this is what worked for me.
