Re: Lens advice needed.

In my view landscapes are not all about huge wide angle vistas, there is much in the lakes that will lend itself to the long end of the 24-105, in particular sunrise and sunset shots can often be more dramatic when taken against nicely cropped mountain peaks.

Im going to be visiting the lake district this year and camping on various summits to hopefully capture some dramatic mountain top sunrise/sunsets. I will be taking my 5d mk2. My problem is i can only take 1 lens. I have a 17-40 L , 24-105 is L and a 70-200f4 L to choose from. Ideally i would take my 17-40 and 70-200 but dont have the room. My question is would you go with the 24-105 for its versitility and moderate wide ange

( could take multiple images and stitch later for ultra wide vista) or capture the breif moment in one shot with the very wide 17-40 but loose out on the longer range shots. Which would you take and why?
