Re: Taking the 5D3 plunge

Coming from 5d2 , dead in sea water , I find 5d3 a great update .
All my glass got jazzed up .
The noise pattern is different and more eyes friendly than 5d2 .
The in cam converter is useful especially when memory card space usage matters :
Not always getting the laptop along .
The in cam converter is also a battery charge killer , at least on my cam .

I like primes for IQ , price , weight and minimalist look in street photography .
My only zoom is 70/200mm f4 . So can' t comment on 24/105 .
In this range I use : 28mm f1.8 ( sweet focus on 5d3) ,
40mm pancake ( smaller than cam side way profile . It needs 1.1.3 software)
50mm f1.4 ( a bit of an overlap with 40mm pancake that is anyway f2.8 only) .

100mm f2.8 IS USM macro ( IS useful only in mini tele use and portrait . Expensive , sweet IQ ) .
