They are hardly doomed - they will pay the fine, pass the costs along to their consumers, and move on. Probably they will now be even more intent on beating Apple. Look what they already did to Sony's TV business.

By "doomed", I meant "doomed" their chances of getting off without penalty in this case. In other words, it "doomed" them to lose this case.

And yes, I hope they are intent on beating Apple. They just have to now do it with their own designs, rather than with Apple's. That will spur innovation, which is better for the market.

But I'm sure Apple isn't going to sit on their thumbs either.

As for Sony's TV business, apparently you're just pulling straws out of your @ss now. There's a lot more going on there than you realize. There are systemic issues throughout Sony. You should probably stick to what you know about...whatever that is, because I haven't figured it out yet, lol.
