I'm finding AWB to be extremely good on D800 - best I've ever tried.

The only scenario where it gets thrown off probably because it's a little too intelligent is where you have a TV or display and you're in warm lighting - it seems to WB on the display which of course is a light source and this throws everything off. So something in the scene can throw if off dramatically - not an issue if raw but if JPEGs probably best to set WB.

The Adobe Standard profile seems to be the best one in LR.

Tried and use X-Rite sometimes but don't know how good the profiles (maybe the 24 patch panel isn't enough) it builds are - seems to have problems with magentas... (At high ISO's the magentas seem to 'bleed' into surrounding areas with X-Rite profiles but not with Adobe Standard)
