For the most part I agree, except P has issued a lens that I think is a fair replacement for the aforementioned zoom. The DA*60-250 is missing only the f2.8 widest aperture of the FA lens. According to Photozone the DA lens is nearly as sharp in the center as the FA through f5.6 and sharper above that and has better borders at all shared apertures. Plus the DA is a bit wider and longer than the FA. Years ago I considered buying the FA*80-200, but decided against it when I learned that it weighs more than 3 pounds. The DA lens weighs more than a pound less. If I wanted this type of lens I would probably get the DA instead of the FA, even if they were priced the same.
