I did appreciate your comments, as I share some of those feelings about the HDR images being somewhat flat. But as another poster mentioned, you do get more detail in the shadows and highlights and you can increase contrast in post processing. I probably shot 500 useable pictures on our recent Europe trip and I'd guess 450 were using HDR. Of those 450 I may have selected 10 of the standard exposures over the HDR images because I just couldn't get the HDR image to look as good to my eyes. Fortunately the RX100 saves the standard exposure as well so you can compare that to what you can get with the HDR and pick what you like best... of course all this takes time
