My (new) D800 also seems to be fully OK, no LF issues

Just for the record: I have not been able to detect any Left Focus issues with my new D800 (serial 6047xxx), nor any other problems with the focusing system. Both center and left/right focus points seems to be within spec -- which usually means tack sharp, with no difference to a liveview/contrast detect focused image.

I have only done a few brickwall shots (not the most interesting to do), so I haven't tested all focus points, but I don't expect to find any problems with any of them, based on my general use of the camera. Focus seems to be better generally than on my D300.

I have tested a number of my optics on the D800, including a newly Nikon adjusted 70-200mm f/2.8 VR-I, a 24-70mm f/2.8 and also a tack-sharp 14-24mm f/2.8 (even @14 mm), a 105mm f/2.8 VR-II and a 50mm f/1.4D, some DX optics (12-24mm f/4 and 17-55mm f/2.8) etc. The only place where I seem to need a little focus adjustment is when using the 70-200mm f/2.8 with a TC-17E II, which appears to have ever so slight a front-focus tendency.

Please note: I am in no way saying others have or don't have problems. I'm just saying that mine luckily appears in fully working condition (and I believe I have the skills needed to test for focus problems, in case anyone wonders).

So far so good Wonderful camera!
