I took these 2 pictures in Superior Auto mode.
I like them, but I feel the colors are too much boosted, not very natural.
I'm not sure though, so I'd like your opinion?

Also, what could I do to get a more natural result? Shoot in P mode, with DRO Auto disabled?

(PS: Strangely, the times displayed here once posted are 2 hours later than the original times, which were correctly detected when I uploaded my photos. )

Personally, I do not feel it is too much. I think the colors look well-saturated...but, everyone's taste varies -- I do most of my shooting on the RX100 with color saturation at +3 on Standard in Aperture Mode, but often still find myself boosting the saturation in post processing. I like color in my photos.

I was just about to post a link to your helpful thread about this, Chris!
Funnily enough, I have just posted a new thread about iAuto and ways to vary settings. So you can reduce the vividness or saturation if you feel it is too much.

You can of course use P mode. But if you want to use Auto mode, you can use the "Photo Creativity" settings described here:

http://esupport.sony.com/docs/dvimag/DSCRX100_guide/en/contents/02/04/05/05.html

to change the Auto default, including the color.

That's precisely what Nanty Coy was suggesting. So it's in the manual, after all!

I was wondering what you can do about saturation in other modes.

Well, you can adjust it in the Menu options (Shooting), by selecting a Creative style then modifying its Saturation parameter, as indicated here:
http://esupport.sony.com/docs/dvimag/DSCRX100_guide/en/contents/04/02/18/18.html

And so, one advantage of shooting Raw (or Raw +Jpeg) is that you shoot be ablt to vary Saturation as you please after having taken the picture, not having to bother so much about it when taking the picture.
