I have an FZ200 in hand

Went there to "try" it at Samy's walked away with it.

Battery charging now but not before I got to shoot with the demo model first.

Back thumbrest pad isn't rubber, it's plastic- my only initial complaint about build quality.

This camera is loaded with features and the handling is superb. Until ACR supports the raw files I won't comment in total on IQ but what I saw so far on jpegs is very very good ( just like online samples I've seen so far).

The zoom switch on the side, I set to manual focus, that is seriously handy.

Max focus distance at 600mm is about 3-4 feet and also, very handy.

I was certain I'd walk away without buying it, but Samys has a nice 15 day no ask return policy and 30 day defective policy.

That on top of how impressive the FZ200 is in hand, tipped me over the edge.

Bar IQ analysis and a manual zoom, this is the perfect superzoom camera. The manual, button layout, mega options for button customization, all excite immediately. Lets hope the IQ is up to par.

More soon, here or on blog or both. I usually spread out my experiences when reviewing here on DPR and the blog.
