A57 Superzoom Lenses

I’m looking to upgrade from point-and-shoot to an A57, and I would like to get an all-in-one zoom lens. I’m aware of the limitations of such a lens, but I would like to have one for travel. I plan to use it for both stills and video, so a quiet auto-focus is important. I’m considering the following:

1. Sony 18-250
2. Sigma 18-250
3. Sigma 18-200
4. Tamron 18-270

I would like to get your thoughts on how these compare in terms of picture quality, AF accuracy, and AF noise.

I have read good reviews about the Sony picture quality, but I understand that it has a rather noisy AF. From what I’ve read on this forum, I think the Sigma 18-250 is equal in picture quality, is quieter, and has in-lens IS. But some say its focus is less accurate.

The Sigma 18-200 seems to get good reviews.

Opinions on the Tamron seem to be mixed. What are your recommendations? Are there any others I should be considering? Thanks.

Sony SLT-A57
