Over-processing destroying image quality

Just been pixel peeping some images posted in a thread on another forum. Great camera, great lenses, but so over-processed and so over-sharpened that you just can't see the image quality any more.

Also, is it just me? Somebody posts a photograph that's been grossly over-sharpened, but displays it at smaller sizes so it looks passable and people jump up and down about how sharp it is. Wow, what a great lens! What? How can you tell what the lens is doing at that viewing size and with all that over-processing?
