Get the 100mm Macro and do both

I have one and love it. Does great for portraits, kicks tail on macro work and overall is a very good lens.

The 50mm 1.8 and 1.4 produce horrible bokeh compared to this one. The 1.2 is pricey as heck but it's the only 50mm that's going to get you decent bokeh. I have the MKII 1.8 only because it's a great walk around lens outside when I want to carry something light wieght.

Not to beat a dead horse but here's a link from a popular 50mm review.

Again, best bang for the buck for you IMO would be the 100mm Macro. Another one to consider and it's the only Tameron I'd consider owning is their 90mm Macro.

Hope the above helps.
