Do you shut down your camera to OFF or keep it always ON?

Hi!

As a new owner of a 650D (and of a DSLR), I found myself walking around all day in ON and letting the standby kicking in; so when I have something to picture, I just need to press the shutter button and the camera is steady ready.

Is there any side effect in this? Are batteries going to get drained faster?

I really don't like to switch it on and off continuously, in the end also the sensor cleaning I suppose take up some juice from the battery...
