The extended optic of the sx260 makes the pictures look fuzzy as stated on Dpreview, and as you can loook on the below comparison pictures. That issue doesn't affect the sx230.

Dpreview confirms the fuzzy effect you see on that Sx260 crop:

While there's no really obvious noise at ISO 100 and 200, they do have a bit of a "fuzzy" appearance to them.

Photos are a bit on the soft side, with a "fuzzy" appearance that I've mentioned several times in this section.

Images are a bit soft at very close inspection, with a sort-of fuzzy look to them.

at higher ISO the pictures of the sx230 looks more detailed while sx260 clearly smears fine details.
