For Lightroom I can confirm that it is very well threaded - when exporting JPEG images, you can easily max out all 12 threads on an extreme edition Intel Core i7.

For a while I tried using a dual core i3 equipped laptop (with an ssd) it was dog slow in lightroom.

I changed this for bulkier model with an i7 and the performance is far, far better. Still not as fast as a good desktop, but close enough to make editing on the go an enjoyable experience.
