No, it's only a slight convenience for people that prefer using that feature. Out of the NX100's huge number of camera settings and menu options, the IFn button duplicates only a small number of them. ISO for instance, can be set from the menu, from the ISO button (on the 4-way controller on the back of the NX100) or from the lens if it has an IFn button. If the NX cameras were harder to operate, like Sony's NEX cameras that make you go into the menu to do most things, an IFn button could be very useful, but with Samsung's NX100, the IFn options (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, EC, WB) can be changed from the back of the camera already, so adding these functions to the IFn button doesn't add as much.
