"Magical" colors: is 5D3 closer to 5D than 5D2 was?

Interesting, but what I don't get is how this reconciles with the statement that later cameras have weaker color filters to improve high ISO at the expense of color. How could 5D3 have a weaker filter, yet be more saturated? Or is it just a matter of processing and the difference is in the noise (when certain colors are amplified too much)?

Plus there is more to color rendering than these basic measurements. A camera converts the infinite number of colors in the spectrum into three basic components. It may not be possible to measure what makes the result subjectively pleasing.
