What if Canon has a vision ...
What if Canon really does have a good vision for the future market? Maybe they see the direction of photography different from many of the pundits here and are moving in a different direction.
Maybe they see the cell phone as replacing almost all their lower end cameras. Maybe Canon will get into the cell phone business with an Android based phone with better optics than anything out there.
What if they see the next step up in the mid range as being everything from the s100 series to the GXX, G1X, PRO1X, M, and lower Rebels, with the G1X and APS-C sensors. They will offer a full line of small to mid size bodies with pocket camera, rangefinder styles, and small ILCs. All of them based on larger sensors to be "better" than cell phone cameras. Anyone can find one camera within this range to fit their needs.
What if they decide the FF is the next direction and have a range of FF cameras available that aren't all very expensive. All the whistles and bells are here for the purist.
This might even make sense ...
