Thanks Oni - I mostly prefocussed and shot high speed continuous to get a series with some hopefully in focus. I was using auto iso and in hindsight should have just set it to 3200 to get the highest speeds (this is week 2 of OM-D ownership for me - still getting used to it)

The IS2 tip is a good one and never crossed my mind at the time.. I like using the panning technique to blur backgrounds, but would this work well for bmx where the riders aren't moving in a straight line?
