And that is why backup systems should run automatically. You can have extra manual backup but do not rely on manual only.

NB Its not to be insensitive but please do set up an automatic backup. Time Machine work very well. On top of that I use crashplan.com.

P.S. If these are the guys http://www.datasaversllc.com then I think they look ok based on the web site. At least they write about logic board failures which I think is you problem. Hope they are able to help you.
