D800 battery life is shocking, is this faulty or something please help?

Have you tried another battery? It will tell you rather quickly if your original has a problem. It is the only way to,really know.

Don't really want to buy one at present as they are overpriced due to shortage, also I recon if there is a fault with this one, which I can only assume since it's showing the battery has aged to stage one in under 1300 shots that it is - I will give Nikon a call on monday and see if I can get a replacement based on this.
