T1i and Sigma 30mm - low light

I pushed my camera and lens to the limit this week while visiting with family. First, was a trip to a trampoline park which is essentially a warehouse with 30, 40 maybe 50 foot ceilings, poorly lit with fluorescent lights. My second challenge was a ping pong tournament, in honor of the on-going Olympic games, which was held in a dim basement.

Both venues required the the ISO to be bumped up to 800 which I typically find barely usable and to shoot with the lens virtually wide open (f/1.8), but it still wasn't enough to stop action like a wanted. To make matters worse, the basement had orange walls which gave the pictures even more of an orange hue than my typical low light pictures.

Regardless, I think I faired pretty well given the conditions, equipment, my limited experience and the fast action I was trying to capture, but wonder if the 7d would have allowed me bump the ISO even higher and still have gotten better results. I figure the 7d would have better ISO performance, better AF plus a higher burst rate.

Only a small percentage were keepers. Below are some good examples of ones I kept that also show the limitations - all take at f/1.8, 1/125, ISO 800 except the last which was 1/160.
