It is still the most likely explanation. The sensor certainly doesn't move when switching from optical viewfinder to live view.

Yup, no reason to get personal, something moved, and most likely it was the camera, i.e. tripod. And it's more likely with a cheap one.

In this case it wasn't a cheap one, but still it moved somehow.
