that's called a sham; unless of course, you never plan to print.

It is low light that racks up the bucks. The RX100 at 28mm and 1.8 will give you roughly the same good results in average indoor flash free photos than the E-M5 with the 20mm 1.7. For casual snaps.

I have in my house both the EM-5 and the RX100. Whilst I can appreciate the colour output - definitely not SONYesque, and the quality, it DOES NOT come close to the EM-5 for print.

Obviously for dark bars the E-M5 will win.

For reach, doesn't a $ 400 Panasonic Fz200 x24 always best a m4/3 with a long lens like the 100-300?

It doesn't but it sure beats all ILCs for portability.
