I own 5D1, 5D2, 60D and 1D3. I am speaking from my own experiences.

FF has better IQ in general in these areas - natural sharpness, tonality, DR (especially in highlight clipping), high ISO.

5D2/5D1 photos in general look more pleasing and more popup. In one area 5D2/5D1 are obvious better than my 60D is in close-up portrait. I have to NR on 60D portrait photos even at base ISO to remove some grains that something I don't need to do in 5D2/5D1/1D3 close-up photos. 60D advantage is when I am unable to close to the subject or when I don't' have long enough lens.

Any EF lenses perform better on FF than on APS-C crop that can be confirmed by DXO reports.

I guess you missed the same DxO reports showing better quality from a number of APS-C cameras over FF.
