Yes, I did notice it some of them. Blame it on my having more experience of fencing than photographing sport in low light.

It is always a good idea to "chimp" the first shot or two at 14x to see what is really going on with your capture. After you are sure you have everything set up right you can blast away!

Yeah, I was checking them out in between hits. Some looked good, others not so. Next time, if there is a next time, I'll stay on manual mode, use 3200 ISO and up the shutter speed to around 640 or better. With even lighting, as it was, that would probably work better.

I would go to 1/1000 and push process the shots if I had to.
