Let's not kid ourselves......

u 4/3 is doing pretty well right now, but something funny is going on.

The range of cameras made by Panny and Oly give something for just about every one from point n shooters to serious amatures. IQ is pretty good, AF is fast and accurate, lens selection is pretty good and when you consider adaptable lenses is actually excellent. Third party accessories are readily available.

Unlike a year or two ago, it is clear that u 4/3 is going to survive and Canon, Nikon, Samsung et al. are not going to deal any death blows.

So how come no other camera manufacturer has joined the u 4/3 consortium?

There is a need for a Fuji style rangefinder body, or a mini-Leica.

Heck, even a Lecia X1 style camera might sell.

Is it possible that Panny (Oly's daddy) just wants this format all for itself and has no intention of letting a real competitor in?

After all, for the most part Panny is the sole 4/3 sensor manufacturer (still not 100% convinced Sony makes the OM-d sensor) and if Panny won't sell it to you you can't play.

Canon won't sell you their 4/3 sensor either.

Did Panny refuse to give Canon the u 4/3 softwear specs?

Is that why they went with EOS-m even thought they had thier own 4/3 sensor?

Something here doesn't make sense.
