Software more important than lens?

I narrowly missed the glory days of film by a couple of years, so you'll have to forgive me if I sound a bit naive.

Over the last few years I've been finding that post processing and software are making a larger impact on my final image than the lens I use.

Since you can often pick up good software for a fraction of the cost of a serious lens I thought that maybe people working with shoe string budgets would benefit from my insight.

This shot was taken with the lowly 45-200 mounted on an Epm-1

I really enjoy the juxtaposition of a glamour treatment against a subject that is anything but. Feel free to C&C.

Currently I use Aperture 3, with the Nik Plug-ins.

I've long been a giant fan of Silver Efex--now on the second version--and viveza, but I've never gotten any use out of Color Efex. However, colour efex 4.0 has opened my eyes in a big way.

I'm now very tempted to try out VSCO Film presets for Aperture.

Is it still called GAS if you are lusting after software instead of camera equipment?
