Cycling related rant (well somewhat)

The British winner of the TdF has a problem with Olympic rules:

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/wiggins-lashes-olympic-cycling-rules-182001116--oly.html

Because of Olympic rules, the Britich team will have to allow a track racer ontot heir road squad.

What is it with the Olympics? They make arbitrary rules that screw up games (like all of the rule changes in nearly every sport)and when the rest of the world can't compete against the USA in softball, they quit allowing that sport alltogether?

Good cyclists are:
Visible, Predictable, Alert, Assertive and Courteous

They also use the five layers of protection available.
Layer 1: Control your bike (Don't fall or collide with others)
Layer 2: Follow the rules (Don't be the cause of traffic crashes)
Layer 3: Use Lane position (Discourage other drivers mistakes)
Layer 4: Hazard Avoidance (Avoid other drivers mistakes and road hazards)
Layer 5: Utilize passive protection (Use protection when all else fails)
