Re: E-7 news

Sounds about right Keith.

And so a micro will be my next camera. With only 1 DSLR every 4 years I simply can't afford 4/3rds anymore because I bank on new bodies coming out so that old bodies hit the used market or go on deep sale. They keep rolling out multiple micro bodies which means the values drop more quickly and that's a system I can roll with.

I'll keep my E-3 until the E-7 makes the E-5 affordable in 2014-15.

Personally, I think what we'll see is the following:

  • HG and SHG 4/3 glass remain. STD lesnes go bye bye.

  • There will be one, pro-level 4/3 body for the HG/SHG glass.

  • Entry level customers will be encouraged to use mirrorless, therefore, "kit" level lenses will be m4/3.

  • There will be an AF adapter or AF will be rectified on m4/3 bodies allowing committed 4/3 users to dip their toes in the m4/3 waters if they like.

  • There will be a professional level m4/3 body that will make the most of both systems.

That's my end of 2013 vision.

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
