Focus and recompose as solution for D800 AF problem

A number of people have been slating Thom, Ken, and anyone else who dares to question the supremacy of the D800 despite it's AF problems.

These people often claim that they will manfully just 'focus and recompose'.

Whilst I do agree that the D800 might be the finest camera ever made, or at least one of, I also think it is foolish not to expect its AF system to work.

I have just published on my blog a simple test, the results of which I have replicated at different subject distances and apertures.

Those who want to focus and recompose should read it, though no doubt they will in some way disagree

Also published today, in an attempt at getting some image-making content rather than 'always with the gear testing' stuff is an article called 'It's about the Light' which looks at some of those places in the world where the light itself is gorgeous enough to be the subject.

I hope you enjoy at least one of these!
