I understand that this is going to be an unpopular post, but how is the D800 a "breakthrough" camera? It's purely evolutionary in every respect. I can't think of one thing about it that's not just bigger numbers than previous cameras.

Before people go crazy, i'm not at all saying the resolution isn't impressive. It is. But it's hardly a breakthrough. The D7000 had the same resolution (albeit on a smaller sensor, so fewer pixels total) years ago. Other than that, the D800, offers basically the same thing as the D700.

The D800 is a great tool, but can we save the "breakthrough" status for cameras that actually do something new?
