It's all about space. There's no room in that retro styled "pentaprism" hump for both a flash and the IBIS sensors. If Oly is willing to give up on retro and build a camera where function is more important than style, they could fit both in the same camera. Or maybe in a few years they'll figure out how to make the sensors smaller.

If so will Olympus have a µ4/3 camera with built-in EVF and flash?

Shouldn't they have one, or do they expect us to buy their heavier four thirds cameras?

My guess is that they'll release an OM-D successor within the 2nd or 3rd model iterations that will have a built-in flash. It's an obvious upgrade for them to make.

I've told myself to stop using "equivalent" focal lengths on m43. 25mm is what it is, and what it might be similar to on some other format doesn't matter to me any more. We need to learn what to expect from our current equipment, not keep mapping it to the old. No one refers to their 50mm FF lens as "equivalent to 80mm on MF."
