Tripod and Head Recommendation For Nikon D800E
A bit of overkill but if you can afford it (and I'm assuming you can since you've decided on that combo) go for it. I don't think you can do better than that combo. It's top shelf all the way. Light and extraordinarily stable. You can get a less expensive setup but you'll always lust after that combo and will eventually buy it........so buy it now and get it over with.
I have bought several tripod/head systems and I just bought the RRS TVC33 and BH-55 for my D300 and I couldn't be happier.
