When I go on vacation to places that are very special (places that you get to visit may be only once in your life time), I bring all my gears with me.
Why invest in all the best stuff and leave them at home or the hotel room? Hehehe.
I find that when we are out and about, I tend to use the 'normal' zoom more often than the 'wide' zoom since during those walkabouts I mostly take pictures of family members / my kids / 'street' type photography. So my preference would have been the 24-70 on the D800.
But when I get up early to catch the sunrise light or sunset light, I will then switch to the prime lenses - 24 f1.4g (someone suggested the Zeiss 15/2 ...) and 105 macro.
You dont want to feel like ... 'oh, I wish I brought that lens' ...
Cant wait to see those pictures.
