RX100 Close ups: it's fine

I've tried close ups with my RX100 as well as read the posts on how macros/close ups with the RX100 are:

ok,
not ok,
halos,
no halos,
learn how to take pictures,
don't tell me that i don't know how to take pictures, etc.

well, even though the first evening, i was a bit stunned by the initially apparent mushiness with the f/1.8 pictures with my RX100, ultimately, i think it's just fine. it really is a matter of not expecting unrealistic depth of field when using f/1.8 when doing extreme close ups, and learning to use the proper f/stop, depth of field, with one's equipment.

kindly see the two pictures here. they are fine to my eyes.
(only resizing using Lightroom, no post processing whatsover)

what do y'all think, may i ask?
