Re: D4 & D800E in use at The Wimbledon Tennis Championships..

Sorry, I have just spotted I dd not answer your question about focal lengths. Courtside I normally use a 300mm or70-200.Frankly I always feel that the 70-200 is the lazy man's way of shooting and my better shots do not often come from this lens, although it is of course hightly competent. I wish I could say that I also used a 200 f/2 but sadly, I am already very well invested in Nikon and to fork-out for one of these as well would be a bridge too far. Next year maybe. In previous years Nikon have kindly taken a bunch of them to Wibledon for loaning out but this year they had none, It is a superb lens for tennis and I can immdiately diffferentiateimages shot with it compared with 70-200 images. For shooting from the photogrpaher's box "up in the Gods" I used Mikon-loanded 500 or 600 lenses. I generally do not line teleconverters but the 300mm with a 2.0 converter is not at all bad. The shots of William & Kate were taken with these, using a D800E.

If you want to know more, after Wimbledon 2010 I wrote a two part review of the "best that Niknon has to offer the sports pro" for Photo Pro magazine. It obviously does not include the new bodies but the lens reviews are still relevant. The articles can be read at http://www.duncangroveblog.com/photo-magazine-articles/ (see Nov & Dec 2010. Sample images using the various lens can be dowloaded for review purposes ONLY from http://www.duncangrove.com/photopro . Hope this helps!
