If I recall, I paid $579 for my FZ20. I think the $599 price point is at the end of the range that buyers will consider, especially when comparing to Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fuji. It will be interesting to see how these competitors counter the opening round by Panasonic. Of course, the other guys may price their models up at some point if the FZ200 is selling well and they have a fairly competitive model next year. They might conclude they are pricing their products too low and people may think price is an indication of quality.
