Hi Ryano67

Please forgive the brevity of my response.

Answer 1: D21

I always focus on the face. Caveat:- many pro sports photographers far more experienced and capable than I say they do not have time for this but focus on the body. These people (men and ladies) were brought up processing negs in pub loos and wiring then in via phone or whatever. They know far more than I and refuse to rely on focus tracking (I have had in-depth conversations). Do not take what I say as gospel, there are other viewpoints but I have told you what I do, despite being advised otherwise by people far more capable and experinced than I.

I rarely use the central AF point because my subject's eyes are rarely in the centre of the image. I am an early adopter of new equipment and you will be familair with some issues that have been reported on this forum about extraneous AF points and new equipment. I am confident that these will soon be resolved but for the last few weeks they have been a problem to me becasue of the way I shoot.

Q:- What's the difference between artists and photographers?
A:- Two artists can have a conversation without discussing their paintbrushes!
