Show Your Snaps...July 16, 2012

We invite you again to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too.

This past Sunday under cloudy skies I went out looking for birds and other wildlife. We finally passed the allergy season, so I may start doing that more. I got a neat photo of a flying swallow (shown as the last photo) and found a beautiful array of wild flowers that were planted at our wetlands preserve. So, without boring you all with my picture of a frog and other small birds, I'll just display these photos for now.

We will start a new thread for this every week now due to the popularity. I'll be sure to comment also to your images, if you choose to share. Thanks everyone for your participation.

Photo No. 1 - Here's where I started. There's many swallows that are encouraged to stay at the preserve with the little bird houses that are found throughout this area. Can you see two of them? The wildflowers were planted near the structure on the right side.

Photo No. 2 - These flowers were so pretty...just begging for a photograph. I hope you like them. I thought the pictures at F16 were better with the increased depth of field.

Photo No. 7 - I was very fortunate to have been able to take a picture of this swallow. For the first time ever, some of these birds were attacking me, so I took advantage of this. I tried for a long time to get good photos of them during this cloudy weather, but this was the only one I really liked. These birds fly extremely fast. And...look how beat up those feathers are...maybe this bird really liked to fight.
