potential problem? transferring 7D pics to HD

Thanks to everyone for their replies. The card is a Sandisk extreme pro UDMA 7 32gb card so hopefully a good enough card. I always format it in the camera and did that just before the second incident. I was using Windows Explorer and not the EOS utility. I don't see any reason why using a USB cord would be a problem but I think I will pick up a card reader. Thanks again.
