Replaced 4 - R3000 Ink Cart chip batteries for the heck of it.

Ir, on the battery

here is a photo of the backside of the cartridge chip, the battery is removed by bending up two tabs.

Remember that we are talking about the batteries that are on 3rd party refillable carts for the Epson R3000 and not the OEM carts/chips. Thus, I doubt that this battery change affects Epson in any more ways than the availability of 3rd party refillable carts do. It acutally affects the 3rd party refillable cart sellers as they will lose some future sales as carts with dead batteries would normally be discarded, but it also helps those sellers who have carts sitting too long on the shelf that the batteries would go bad too quickly with the buyers and the ease of battery replacement would smooth the seller/buyer relationship somewhat.
