Olympus misleads on FL-600r RC mode...
1

From Olympus' description of the FL-600r flash:

"When used in wireless mode, the FL-600R has an integrated commander function for remotely firing other wireless flash units without firing itself"

To me that implies that the flash never fires when sending commands to other flashes, that it uses some other method that's not visible, like infrared.

Well I went shopping for an FL-600r flash this evening, but I figured I should try the RC mode in the store before buying it (on an E-M5), and despite what Olympus says the flash fired.

Now maybe Olympus meant that the flash can send commands without adding light to the exposure, BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY SAID!!!!!

I'm really disappointed about being mislead.

I realize this may be a Japanese to English thing, but the translation should have been checked by Olympus.

I welcome Olympus to contact me to dispel anything I said here, or tell me if I did something wrong, and that I wasn't supposed to see the FL-600r flash sending RC commands.
