I have had this lens for about 1 year and like it very much. It is a bit soft at f1.4 but by f2.8 its sharp. I tend to use f2.8 anyway because it's easier to nail the focus. Yes it's compact but also heavy for its size which is both good and bad. I have the SC coating and like the rich colours and contrasty b&w's. I think the following photos are all at f2.8 or less. No issues with focus shift.
