Re: Is it safe to by an S100?

Ok so here is my email from Canon.

Service Request:
Dear Mr. xx,

Thank you for your e-mail and for contacting Canon.

Further to your enquiry our apologies for not being clear concerning the repair of the PowerShot S100. You will be able to send the product in for repair after you have purchased it, preventing any faults happening during your holiday for example.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Yours sincerely,

From me.

Sorry not sure I follow. If I get a device within the affected range that isn't exhibiting the phenomenon can I get it repaired anyway? Im a little concerned that it may malfunction whilst on holiday which isn't ideal.
