thinking about going FX - lense advice appreciated

Currently I own D300s and bunch of lenses. But lately I am finding out that I basically use (more or less) 3 lenses:
12-24 f4 (Tokina)
35 1.8 Nikon
70-300 VR or 80-200 D ED

Depends on a predicted needs I might leave tele-zoom at home, and sometimes I would take 105 2.8 AFS as short tele...

Anyway, now that D800 came out, Nikon D700 prices dropped and it is still possible to get new one. So I am (again) considering buying one.

So, I started to create list of lenses I would like to have on FX:

16-35 f4 (Nikon)
50 1.4 G (already own one)
70-300 VR or 80-200 D ED (already own both)

I am speciffically interested how tele zooms compare on FX. If I let go 80-200, it will significally help to fund D700 and 16-35, but I am not certain 70-300 VR is good enough on FX.

Main reason for going to D700 is better DOF control. less noise in low ISO, better DR, but negative is fact that sytem will be heavier...

Altough apart from DOF, new sensor in D5100 could solve things I would like to upgrade for.

Thank you for your replies!
