Re: Alternative to Nikon MB-d12 - Got One!

I just received Meike grip that I paid less then $58.00 for. It works fine. For $58.00, it is reasonably well made. The only weakness may be the wheel that is used to attach the grip to the camera body. The wheel seems rather cheap and a bit loose. I will check it every once in a while to make sure it is tight. I do not believe that is a problem if you are shooting handheld, but could be a problem if you have the camera and grip on a tripod and keep switching from horizontal to vertical and back and forth. I would probably avoid using the grip on a tripod. I think all grips should have a locking mechanism for the wheel once it is clamped into place. In any event, it is certainly worth up to $100 compared to the absolutely ridiculous price of $400 for the Nikon grip.
